First of all, I’ll say it again because it does kind of help to sort of understand “things” a little bit.
President Trump is a Gemini.
Gemini the Twins. Of two minds.
I know a little something about Geminis as my mom and brother are both Geminis. I’m an air sign, which Gemini also is, so that also helps with my understanding or lack of when it comes to some stuff. Of course, everyone can’t be painted with the same brush: time, place, year of birth plays a big role in astrology. You can know two people with the same birthday, yet they are very different.
Geminis blow hot and cold. They change their minds on a dime. They can take forever to make a decision. They flip flop. And in most cases, like my mom or brother, they are NOT trying to be mean or an asshole (most of the time) but they literally change their minds when they discover new information.
They can be indecisive like the other air sign, Libra.
They can be Peter Pan and never want to face reality or grow up.
They can be the old wise crone imparting wisdom.
They are usually know-it-alls. Not to be jerks, but because they are curious, they’ll go down various rabbit holes all the time, much like the other two air signs.
Most of them are people people who also love the latest gadgets and technology.
They aren’t necessarily the most empathetic people in the world (neither are Aquarius, I’ve been told) but they like people and can give good advice. They usually have a good sense of what’s fair.
In tarot, they are ruled by the suit of swords, as are all the Air Signs.
The suit of swords often indicates cutting, blunt, forthright, impulsive, but also, kind, logical, socially and environmentally concerned, curious, loyal, and fair. Communication is the key word, whether through technology, art, music, writing or something else.
Good and bad.
Trump has spent his life as a classic Gemini, a charismatic chameleon. Well, I don’t know for sure if he’s always been the way he is, but I’ve been aware of him since the seventies, so that’s a long time to see what’s what with him.
Anyway, enough of that.
Really, I want to say, “Canada is NOT for sale!”
Trump slapped his tariffs on Canada yesterday.
Everyone knows that the reasoning behind the tariffs is not based on reality. Less than 1% of fentanyl going into the US comes from Canada (and hey, isn’t it the job of the US border patrol to stop drugs coming into their country?). And the immigration issue is also more than under control and keeps getting tighter.
Trudeau called it out on live TV. He stated the facts and then warned that Trump wants to take over Canada for our resources and there’s no way that’s going to happen. He cited billions of dollars of retaliatory tariffs Canada is putting on the US.
Ford is threatening to shut down hydro from Ontario (which feeds into a couple of states) if the tariffs aren’t lifted.
Apparently, Trudeau and Trump had a conversation today that will stall the automotive tariffs for another month.
Hopefully all this power tripping will stop soon.
Trump got mad at his own tariffs that he put in when last he was in power.
It’s so maddening.
The treatment of President Zelensky, no matter what side you’re on about anything, was disgusting. Tone deaf question about the suit. Lack of history. Lack of anything but power tripping. Bullies. Lady Liberty hung her head in shame that day.
Then last night. The President’s State of the Union Speech. Started late and was a two-hour narcissistic ramble peppered with “look how I helped this poor person” spotlights.
Before the speech, I watched a couple of hours of preamble on various media, mostly on Adam Mockler’s YouTube as he was doing super short spontaneous interviews with anyone who would talk to him. He got some great ones. Elizabeth Warren was my favourite, but there were other ones too.
So many of these people were angry at Trump, angry at the way things are going. Some weren’t, of course. We know who is who.
But it’s such a shame that there is such division in the country. And such hate for women, especially women against women.
How is everything sliding backwards? Women’s rights. Marginalized groups’ rights. Health care. What’s with the confederate flags? Nazi salutes. Backstabbing allies. It’s truly astonishing.
During President Trump’s speech, the Democrats expressed their displeasure with various talking points in various ways. Rep. Al Green yelled until he was escorted out. Some Democrats didn’t show up at all, instead taking to social media.
As many people called out before Mr. Green was taken away, Trump threatened them and after he was taken away, he threatened them again to be quiet or else. Yet when Biden was President, he endured cat calls all the time from his peers.
Mr. Thinskin. Oh, yes, another Gemini trait. Super sensitive people…
Some dems chose to walk out at various times during specific talking points. They color coded pink for women, blue and yellow for Ukraine, and so on. Several of them had little black signs with words on them such as “Lies.”
I did have one head scratcher though.
As I mentioned, some dems chose to walk out of the speech during specific talking points. There were a couple of people who wore “Resist” T-shirts and they left at different times. It bothered me. If they are there to “resist,” wouldn’t they be the last to leave? Wouldn’t they fight back, talk back, no matter what threats Trump pulled on them? Wouldn’t they be in that last X-wing in the trench of the Death Star?
Oh, well. It kind of sums up a lot about how we got here, doesn’t it?
Will Trudeau negotiate some more deals?
Will Ford pull the plug?
Will China go to war?
Today things feel like we’re all on creaky old ships and the wind can blow in any direction. It could be good; it could be bad.
At any rate, in the immortal words of our favourite Confederate woman-hater, Scarlett O’Hara:
“After all, tomorrow IS another day!”
No. Can't sell a place that the fucking hamas fanboys already own.
